Firearms Art
John Dietz has combined the inspiration of William Harnett’s
firearms still life paintings, his own involvement with historical
weapons, and years as an accomplished artist to develop this series.
Working with the actual guns that belong to himself, family and
friends, he paints all the items life size to capture the detail in
the textures and materials. These types of weapons were used to
explore, fight wars, commit crimes, and maintain peace throughout
American history. Dietz honors this history, with his firearms
portraits.
